The beginning of the journey

1907 is the year in which a young Genoese sailor named Giovanni Parodi embarked on the Drottning Sophia, a merchant ship flying the Swedish flag. During his wanderings he learned the art of producing a liqueur based on juniper, a berry easily found in all the ports he landed in.

Buenos Aires and the perfection of the recipe

It was in the port of Buenos Aires that Giovanni perfected his recipe, given the length of his stay. He spent his time between the port and the cubbyholes of the city, in the "la Boca" neighborhood, together with a group of boys of Italian origin that he had met and who enjoyed playing soccer, which he also had become passionate about. Soccer had arrived almost everywhere by sea, thanks to English sailors.

The return and the nostalgia

Back in Italy, Giovanni often talked about those days, sipping his liqueur with a certain nostalgia. His recipe, however, remained forgotten in an old trunk for almost a century, at risk of being lost forever.

The recovery of tradition

The recipe was recovered and perfected by Giovanni's great-grandson, who bears his name. Reading his great-grandfather's diaries, he wanted to pay homage to his memory by bringing the precious liqueur back to every home.

The taste of history

Today you can taste the liqueur that Giovanni Parodi was so proud of, discover its history through its soft and citrusy flavor, let yourself be transported ideally to the dock of the port of Buenos Aires, with its voices, its exotic scents, and let yourself be surprised by the magic of the Boca neighborhood.

How was Boca born?

Boca was born in a small distillery, in the quiet of the Po Valley, from a completely artisanal process, from the idea of giving a completely natural, but at the same time magical product.

The place where everything is born is the small laboratory in via Thaon de Revel, in Vercelli, where every bottle destined for consumption is born.
